That was crazy. Isner looked like he could have been blown over by a stiff breeze, and Mahut looked like he could still run a marathon. I think the worst thing Mahut could do was to call it for darkness and let Isner get rest and rehydrated.

So, it finally ended today. Isner finally broke through in the 138th game of the 5th set breaking Mahut's serve.

    Final Score:

    6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-3), 70-68

The total match time was 11 hours, 5 minutes (beating the previous record by 5 hours). The 5th set was 8 hours, 11 minutes alone, played over 3 days.

Isner had 112 aces to Mahut's 103. To compare, Andy Murray only had 18 aces in his match yesterday.

I don't think we'll ever see another match like this...

p.s. Wimbledon changes balls every 7 & 9 games (alternates throughout the match), so they used 11 dozen balls in this match.

I don't know why, but I pictured Indio & Hacker playing the 2nd hole at the Marshes when I read this sentence.

I was thinking something like that while I was typing it.
