Kissimmee/Orlando Golf
So I now have access to a house in Kissimmee (Father in-law) whenever I want and I'm wondering if anyone has been and can recommend courses in the area and in Orlando also. Like to make my first trek in October/November.

Highlands Reserve and Ridgewood lakes. Both are in the same area near Davenport Exceptional courses at a very reasonable price with lots of elevation changes.

Diamondback and Southern Dunes, in Haines City, very nice courses. Legends in Clermont and Providence in Davenport . As mentioned above Highlands is nice, and the best thing is you can walk this course, most courses make you take a power cart. They also have frequent player cards.
Remington is also nice and usually offer good deals. Kissimmee Bay is just OK. Stay away from Mystic Dunes, designed by Gary Koch. I think he was on something when he designed it, to weird for me.
On the more pricey side, is Orange County National, two courses, Crooked Cat and Panther Lake, both excellent. Champions Gate is more of a links style, never warmed up to this course, just my opinion. Falcons Fire and Celebration are really nice. And then there are the Disney courses all nice.
Lots more I've played but this should be good for now.

Kissimmee Golf
Check out www.golfnow.com for last minute deals
Royal St Cloud is a better conditioned course for less$$$
Course conditions can VARY greatly and often does matter how much
money you spend ,we have been burnt several times paying way to much $$$
for the conditions.
Diamondback is good value and not in a housing development.
We also played Greenlefe next door although the property needs more upkeep
the golf courses are cheap in good condition

I enjoyed Mystic Dunes when I played it a year ago. Not a lot of water and lots of room to miss - a real rarity in Orlando.
Reasonable Green fees as well.

I enjoyed Falcon's Fire. Just re-did all the greens, nice course, and it was good bang for the buck.
Food goes in here..... it sure does.
