What do you consider a decent round?
When you are done a round and you're looking at your scorecard, what do you consider a decent/acceptable round of golf for yourself?
Let's say par on the course is 72, slope is average 115, rating 72, and the course is not new (you've played the course before). You only get out of something what you put into it

Same here. I have only shot in the 80s three or four times in my life, but am not happy with a score over 95. So, decent is 92-94.

anything sub 85 is good. over 85 not so good.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

82-84 is an average round, high 80's and i'm kind of annoyed. But 70's i am a happy golfer. like last week when i shot 76 at Cartier, even after bogieing the last 4 holes i was still in a great mood!

I would say 81-84 is a decent round for me. Anything above that I feel as though I didn't play very well.

I don't know of many courses with that kind of slope/rating combination, but I would expect to break 80 on that.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I voted 80-89 but I consider a decent round to be somewhere in the 80-82 range. I'm happy when I'm in the high 70s and extremely pleased if I'm in the mid to low 70s (which hasn't happened in a while).

These days, not losing a ball is a decent round for me.
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

I selected 73-79. Anything under 76 is pretty tough to get upset about but 79 from the 2nd last deck on a short course is not a decent number!

Right now, anything in the high 80's is decent, below 85 is really good.

Anything in the 80s puts a smile on my face. Anything above 94 pisses me off.

Anywhere in the 80s is alright with me. 85 or lower is a good round.

If I can play within my hdcp. i am happy. The past few weeks have been bad due to a non responsive putter(surely,it cant be me)So anywhere from 76 to 83 is very good for me.

Since half of my 26 games have been par of better, I use par as my standard, however, what is most meaningful to me is NOT the score but the quality of the ball striking. My worst Intersectional qualifying score, a 73, was the best day of ball striking with 14FW and 16 GIR. This helps to maintain a high confidence level that carries into subsequent rounds.
Scoring well because of a good short game and putting but with poor ball striking, is like waiting for the House of Cards to crumble.

There are so many variables when it comes to scoring that it only gets partial consideration in the evaluation of my round. To me a decent round happens when I'm striking the ball well - which will usually (but not always) translate to a score between 80 and 85.
But I've shot in the high '80s and figured I've had a pretty decent round considering the course, the playing conditions and the lack of support from the golf gods. And I've also shot in the low '80's and considered myself extremely lucky considering how poorly I struck the ball.

Decent rounds
- No tripples
- No penalties
- No three puts
<95
Other than that its always a good walk for me.

Any round of golf when the sun is shining, and the grass is green is a decent round by any reasonable standard

I'm with the ball striking people. A good ball striking day will usually get me somewhere from 80-85 but with the crazy wind this year I've had some good days with the swing that I haven't scored well on.
Even I've never heard of me

I was going to answer the same, but seeing as I am playing a variety of rounds at a variety of clubs, from a variety of tees, a score range is not really a good enough indicative.
So, I will say anytime my differential is under 16 I am happy. As a reference point I am a 14.6 HDCP.Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team
