    US Open Release

    So the new scotty release was today, and I must say that the cover is alright. I wouldn't say spectacular, mainly because I find it rather similar to the Hula cover. I love the color and I really like the putting tool. I managed to get both today.

    The Putting Tool is used for practicing squaring the club just before and through impact. Can easily be done with tees, but this is a cool Scotty thing to use.

    I used to collect Scotty covers but lately I am finding his covers getting more and more tacky looking IMO.

    I usually like the Scotty headcovers but not really this one...reminds me too much of Disney's Little Mermaid.

    The one thing I don't like about this HC is that there is no reference to the US Open.

    Scotty can't refer to the tournaments by name as they are not "officially" sanctioned merch...

    I personally passed on the release...

    If anyone wants the cover, they can have it at cost plus shipping.

    He's come close, saying US Golf Championship on a cover, but he'll never embroider US Open...just like he'll say Augusta but not the Masters...

    Looking back to 2004 was both Ryder Cup and British Open. Other than those they are not specific to the actual tournament. I never caught onto that one.

    I sort of like the cover but didn't pull the trigger on it. Maybe I will wait a while and see if I can trade my Putterman for it.

    It actually a lot nicer in person. Just received mine today and I enjoy it much more in person. I also used the putting tool today and it was easy to set up and use. Gonna keep it in the bag to use while warming up and practicing.
