Wrong ball played out of bunker
Need clarification on how to proceed in the following situation: (stroke play)
Two playing partners are in a greenside bunker on a par 3. Both playing same type of ball but different numbers and no other identifiable markings (how do you mark your Titleist etc...) Player furthest away hits (player A) then Player B hits. Both balls are on the green putting for par. Player A realizes he hit the wrong ball. Obviously Player B does the same. No putts have been struck by either player.
From this point, what is the proper procedure and what penalty is imposed?
Thanks for your help!!

Looks like 15-3:
If a competitor makes a stroke or strokes at a wrong ball, he incurs a penalty of two strokes.
The competitor must correct his mistake by playing the correct ball or by proceeding under the Rules. If he fails to correct his mistake before making a stroke on the next teeing ground or, in the case of the last hole of the round, fails to declare his intention to correct his mistake before leaving the putting green, he is disqualified.
Strokes made by a competitor with a wrong ball do not count in his score. If the wrong ball belongs to another competitor, its owner must place a ball on the spot from which the wrong ball was first played.

Wrong ball out of bunker
So just to be clear on the scenario, Player A hits his second shot out of the bunker and on to the green but when he marks his ball he realizes he hit the wrong shot.
In the mean time, Player B hits his second shot, but leaves it in the bunker. He then hits his third shot on to the green and they both realize that they hit the wrong balls.
At this point, do they return to the bunker, take a two shot penalty and hit 5?
What about the third shot player B took out of the bunker with the wrong ball. Does he get another penalty for hitting the wrong ball again?
Thanks for all the input.

From DenisO's post above
