Tips on buying...
So I'm in the market for a Scotty...Where do I buy one new? I see they carry them at GolfTown but is there anywhere else in Ottawa that carries them?
Can you order off a site?
Are there any tips for buying used online to avoid fakes?
Thanks

Are you looking to buy OTR or a circle T?

Likely OTR

My tip would be to stop insulting habs fans...
Seriously though, golftown is the place to get them in Ottawa if you are looking for selection. Last time that I was there, it was pretty well stocked with all models.
Try to find a putter that you like, and either bite the bullet and pay retail, or post a want-to-buy in the SC section here.

The GT probably has the best selection of scotty's.

There is an excellent assortment of local lightly used Scotty putters in the for sale section of this forum.
Good luck in your search....

Thanks for the advice guys, I found one online a Newport 2 which is what I want. However in exchanging e-mail with the seller he revealed the head was still shrink wrapped which set off an alert based on what I've read online.
Is it likely this is a fake?

try golfwrx.com as well. lots of good people on there and good prices.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I would say so, because Scotty's don't come with the head shrink wrapped. I believe that person is trying to sell that on CameronCollector.com as well. I would just leave it...normally if it's too good to be true, it normally is.
You can always check the Cameron Collector as well for sales...there always lots of stuff there to purchase.

Can you guys tell if this looks fake or not? I've asked the seller for the COA.

If he's bought it from a store, he most likely won't have a COA. They are only provided if you send it to the Custom shop and pay for one.
It looks legitimate, but I am no expert.
FYI I just picked up a Laguna and love the feeling. Getting to game it for the first time tonight.
