A new year, almost a stable beginning

Well every year I say that I won't make any change to see if my game has improved and it never happens; although this is the winter where I've stayed the most consistent (only 1 new club) and last week's escape down south has proven that it works. So this summer will see:

Driver: SMT 455DB with Assassin II WC stiff shaft / Ping Si3 with stiff Ping CsLite shaft
3 & 5 woods: Nicklaus Air Max with stiff steel shaft (forgot whether it's DG200 or 300)
3-pw: Ping I3+ silver dots (extra 1.5" length) with regular DG300 shafts
    wedges: 54* Cleveland 588, 60* Titleist Vokey
    putter: Odyssey White Hot #4
balls: Titleist NXT / Callaway HX Tour

This setup seems to work... Now wishing summer would come around.

    My Golf Bag

    Hi Guys and Gals

I just joined the forum last night, so here is my contribution to What's In The Bag.

Adams Redline 10.5 D Fujikuri 60G Reg Added on Dec.3 so not enough rounds to really verify if I want this in my bag, but it sure felt good in +3C temps on Dec 4 & 5/04
ADAMS IS IN THE BASEMENT! In its place is a Tour Tradition which is a knockoff of the Titleist 983K. The shaft is a Graffloy Mid stiff. I drive the ball as far with this club as my buddy does with his 983K and I have a grand total of $33 Cnd invested into it!

TaylorMade Supersteel, 3 & 5 Woods, S90 Rifle Shafts (old warriors, 5 years old)

TaylorMade 200 Series Irons, 3-PW DG S300 shafts, 1 inch longer than standard, lie is 4 Up. (Currently looking for a set of TM300 forged to replace these irons)

    RAC Black 52 D Wedge
Titleist Vokey Chrome 56 D Wedge

Putters: Depends on my mood and speed of the greens, either the TaylorMade Rosa Monza or TM Rosa Indy Sport 1. Both cut down to 33 1/2 inches.

Balls: Titleist NXT Tours or Dunlop Loco's (I like the Loco's when it is cold)

All stuffed into a TaylorMade Dual Strap Carry Bag

Shoes :Bite Journey, most comfortable golf shoes I have worn in 23 years.

    Glove:FootJoy WeatherSoft.

I have golfed for 23 years, current index is 5.7 after 165 rounds in 2004.
    Three career Hole In Ones.
I live in South Western Ontario, not far from London and Lake Erie. Home course is Westminster Trails Golf Club, London ON

    Amazing Golf Bags

Hey this thread just goes to show how crazy us Canucks are about the game of golf. Lots of different makes and models in everyones golf bags on here.
Per capita Canada has the highest percentage of golfers in North America and it sure shows on this forum.
I have been on other forums but by far the knowledge is greater on this one.
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

    Reid:

A new name for you? It's the right one with all the iron mongery you own. The Adams are great for my tender arthritic fingers.

Actually it's been my name here for years LOL. Joined here just after I bought a set of GS ProForged blades from SMTMan on the GEA Sad thing is I bought them in the winter and ended up trading them away without ever using them, but the forum name last forever.
I play regularly with another fellow who uses the Adams Idea set and he hits them a ton. Great sticks.

Okay, I think this is it...

    Driver: Armour 845 FP 9.5º, Mercury Tour Pro-Kevlar X
FW: Callaway Warbird 15º, M-10 steel (might build a Maltby PV-FST or get my hands on a Orlimar VT-380)
Utility: Cobra Baffler 20º, DG X-100
3-PW: Raven TM.102.i Blades, Mercury Savage Steel X
Wedges: Callaway Forged Raw 54º & 60º, Callaway TT steel
Putter: Odyssey DF550, 33” (still gets the job done)
Ball: Hogan Apex Tour (can’t wait to try the new Hogan Tour Deep)
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

Well, my bag continues to "evolve" over time, but this is the way it will likely stay until springtime (when many clubs will become available to discriminating buyers!). New stuff is in bold:

    Current Bag*:
Driver #1: 9* Bang Mellow Yellow, regular flex BiMatrx Rxi
    Driver #2: 9* Wishon 915CFE, regular flex Accuflex C.A.S.
3-wood: Callaway Steelhead Plus, uniflex steel
5-wood: Callaway Steelhead Plus, Dynamic Gold R300
7-wood: Callaway Steelhead Plus, uniflex steel

3-SW: Adams GT Performance, regular flex GT shaft
GW: 52* Adams GT Ultimate, wedge flex Performance Lite steel
LW/SW: 60* Alien Ultimate Sand Wedge
Putter: 33" Odyssey White Hot #3
Ball: Titleist DT SoLo, Strata Tour Soft

    Testing:
8* SMT "Sweetheart" Nemesis, regular flex Penley Parabolic
9* Bang "Slupski" Bang-O-Matic, regular flex Fujikura Vista Tour 60
Callaway Big Bertha 7-wood, regular flex RCH 90 graphite
19* & 25* ZT Maximizer hybrids, regular flex Mercury Performance

3-SW Callaway X14 Pro Series irons, Constant Weight uniflex steel
3-PW MacGregor 1025C irons, regular flex Pro-Pel Lite steel
52* MacGregor MT Tourney gap wedge, wedge flex Pro-Pel Lite steel
    32" CER 401 centre-shaft putter

    * Note the total absence of Taylor Made products, for now and evermore

Either the Cally X14 Pros or the 1025C's will replace the Adams irons in the #1 Bag - I just don't know which one! All the others in the "Testing" lineup are experiments which may or may not prove to be ultimately successful. And I still have an Accuflex Pro shaft looking for a head...
