most forgiving 3 wood

Hey All,

Question for you; I'm looking for a new 3 wood and would like some advice, new to golf...only a couple season under my belt - but probably will play twice a week this season.

I need to pick up a 3 wood, that I'll probably hit a combination of tee and off the deck, but will likely rely on hybrids for those in between shots.

Look for something that is very forgiving...have heard great things about the G series Ping clubs...wanted some feedback from some of the golf minds on here.

What do you think is the most forgiving/good quality 3 wood?

If you are just beginning, I would not recommend hitting 3W off the deck. Chances are you won't have enough clubhead speed to get it in the air. A 5W would be a better option off the deck.

Keep the 3W for off the tee.

im a big fan of wilsons fybrids.. i carry a 3w and a fairway hybrid. can be got for 75.00 new...

I got a Titleist 906f4 last year and I am loving it.
I use the strong 3w (13.5 degree) but it comes 15.5 degree as well. As said before you can get a 5w for use off the deck and still get some good straight distance off the tee.

Like J. Vincent says. Stay away from the 3w. Someone of your level has no need for one. You should be looking for something a little shorter and with 17 or 18* of loft. Wishon Golf as an amazing 4w in there line up. The 949MC model wich has a C.O.R value equal to driver limits at 0.830. It's not cheap but it is well worth it. Another Wishon product would be the 915 HL series witch has a very shallow face and just a touch of offsett for forgivness. This one is more in line price wise because it does not have the high C.O.R value, but it still has a very hot face.

I use the 915HL 5w witch has a loft of 17*, so it's a 4w. I can kill this baby. The other thing is that you can have your head hand picked for the loft you want for a small fee.

Wish I had that issue, can't pull driver off on narrow fairways......

Picked up a 5w last year for my bag and used it for 2 rounds before realizing my bag was missing a 3w.
Usually hit Driver off the tee, but happy I added the 3w.
Now I have a 5w and 3w, and they are both Taylormade Burners and I love them.

if you want forgiveness and value, consider nickent. Their 4dx line is really beginner friendly, and cheap too - if you can find it (nickent went under recently)

the adams LP (low profile, very shallow face) was one of my fav 3 woods to hit out of the fairways. gets the ball up really well.

My 3w is the club I credit to bringing my scores down. I use it instead of driver when not feeling confident off the tee or the fairway is narrow. It goes 90-something % as far as my driver and much more likely to keep the ball in play.
Cleveland Hibore XLS 3w, very forgiving and easy to hit off the deck (though I don't let myself do this often - toughest shot in golf, the layup 2nd on a par 5)

By far the easiest to hit 3 wood I have ever owned is the TM Burner (07). I found the shallow face far better out of short rough than the deeper faced Ping.

Great off the tee and great off the deck. Still have it and added a 7 wood as a high arc 200 yrd club

Het a square head or other High MOI 3 wood like the KZG Q wood.
