Royal Canadian Air Force Anniversary Tournament
Come join us in celebrating the RCAF 80th Anniversary. A golf tournament is organized for the 29th of July (Thursday) at Circled Pine Golf Course at CFB Borden.
Shotgun start at 10:00 and scoring will be done with the Callaway system.
Prizes for Low Net, Top 3 Low Gross, Long Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hole-in-one prizes on all par 3s (Trip to a southern destination, Nike Ignite driver, 36 dozens balls, Buick Rendez Vous).
Cost: $110 (receipt for $70 charitable donation), includes green fee, cart, dinner and prizes.
GREAT DEAL!!!! Lots of sponsors and not many players.
For info, PM me or send me an email cote.sj@forces.gc.ca
Very affordable accomodations on base if you need to or don't know anyone in the area. Why not enjoy a good friendly tournament on your way to National Pines or the Muskoka.Last edited by nice_lag; 07-20-2004 at 02:12 PM. Reason: More info

Circled Pine Golf Course
It's a nice forest-style course where greens are true and fast (usually 9 on the stimp) and fairways are in nice condition. There is enough forgiveness off the tee and a second cut of rough will catch up errand shots before they make it to the woods. Even though it's only 6500 yards from the tips (slope 127, rating 71.2), it plays a bit tougher this year because of that second rough and it will definitely make use of all your clubs. The longest hole is 532 yds and the shortest one 132 yds.
They make use of trees to make you shape your shots (ie gamble around/over) and even though water only comes into play on 7 holes (when water is high enough), the creeks and lakes are well placed and will make you think before pulling any stick off your bag.
I'd compare the layout of the course to be somewhat like Manderley and Hylands. I hope this helps.

A great day
Thanks to all the ppl who played and/or donated prizes. It was a very successful day as we gathered close to $4000.00. The weather was great, the meal was excellent and 20 more inches and Buick was down a car. Maybe next year....
Thanks again and see you all soon.nice_lag
