    Sorcier:

Anyone been out there yet? I think they opened yesterday. I have a tee-time scheduled for Friday and I'm looking to find out what shape it's in (any temps)? Thanks.

Lessons on closing?? Like the chip-in at Prescott on 15 to beat you 4&3? What can I say, when I see my competitor tearing up on the side of the green, muttering about "hating himself" I have a soft spot.

what's with the early may opening for Loch March? Is that normal? I know there are some low lying holes there but a full month after most other courses opens seems a bit much?

any know what Stonebridge looks like after the improvements they made last fall?

When I talked to Loch March earlier in the week about pass books they said that they might open a week earlier if the good weather continues.

Played Canadian today with Bobjones59 and got paired up with Ray & Charles. Conditions are not bad for the first day of the season. Greens were mostly rolling true if a bit slow, fairways were pretty dry. Fun day!

Played Le Sorcier today, conditions were pretty decent. Greens a little slow and shaggy but quite green and relatively consistent. Course was quite dry too.

    Kingsway

Played Kingsway today, very wet and muddy.
Very hard to find a dry lie in fairway and rough.
Greens on front nine were in ok condition.
Back nine greens were in great shape and very fast.
    $25 right now.

At Le Sorcier, are you restricted to carts on the cart path or can you drive onto the fairways ?

    Nation:

Played it on April 1, it is very decent for this time of year, fairly dry compared to others (as usual) and greens are nice and plush but a little slow (but not too bad) as can be expected for this early.

They added a new bunker at the turn on Hole #5.

Also, they added a new bunker for Hole #10 (on the right side of fairway - you can't see this from the tee, it's about 190 yrds from the tee).

Played Manderley today, they have North/South open and it was in pretty good shape. The normal holes that don't dry out as quickly are pretty wet but it is usually in spots that aren't hit from very often, unless a short mi. The greens are very good but slow, but that's to be expected for how early it is I suppose. Not going to be able to play again for 2-3 weeks but that's the only downside to my vacation.

Played Falcon Ridge today, here's my review:

-a little pricey for this time of year ($47)
-greens are in good shape but they are slow/wet
-pace of play is brutally slow, took us 5 hours to complete
-tee box and fairways are nice. wet spots here and there.
    -i scored 91 so i'm happy.

    Emerald Links conditions

    Emerald Links

Played there today. Best conditions i've seen for this time of the year ever at this course.

The course is almost totaly dry; the greens were in superb shape. They were actualy mowed down which surprised me for opening day. Probably an 8-9 on stimp. Only a couple of greens on East course that had some round spots. The pins were in tournament locations....... all tough to access but i loved it. I will play there again until my course opens in mid-April.

Hi highly recommend the course to anyone. Fees have gone up..... now $54 + tax.
Golfing only thing on my mind.......

    Canadian

Played the Canadian today. It was in good shape, greens were rolling a bit slow, but in great shape. Some places were a little wet, but pretty dry overall.

Played Pakenham today. There were a few wet spots on the course but nothing too bad.

Greens were a little bumpy from fall aeration but again, good for this time of year.

Played The Meadows (east/west) earlier today. Mostly dry. Greens where slow but rolled true. No carts. $35 to walk. Worth it IMO.

5 hours, seemed to be having trouble with double bookings; not much grass in the fairways; greens were okay, just spring-time slowww. No carts yet. But, beer was cold in the new clubhouse.

Yeah thats my biggest beef with that course/Raceview. Last season I got out there mid-April and it was full cost. Considering Raceview was a temp green every second hole I thought it was a rip off and will never play there again.

I played Pakenham as well today(Lake/Island), and thought at $30 it was a good value.
No temp tees or greens, and the place was jam-packed.
Understandably the 'beer girl' wasn't doing her loop today, but they did have an older, flirty guy dragging a cooler around with a selection of beverages.
There were a few plugged balls in our group, but nothing one wouldn't expect this time of year.
