Muskoka Golf Courses
I'm heading out to Lake Muskoka for about 10 days in August, and looking to play 3 or 4 rounds of golf. I'm going to have the wife with me, and she's adamant about playing the big courses, like Taboo, the Rock, Grandview, etc.. So what are some recommendations for small, inexpensive courses, possibly 9 holes also? here's a list of the courses I know of, but never played, and have some interest.
Muskoka Highlands, Bracebridge G&CC, Huntsville Downs, Diamond in the 'ruff, The Sands, Windermere G&CC, Bangor Golf Course.

Orillia
Depending on where you are staying, you can also try courses near Orillia.
I'm a big fan of Hawk Ridge...although it is not very cheap...it is quite reasonable when you compare it to Taboo! Courses in the Muskokas tend to be very expensive during the cottage season.

I actually have some passes for Taboo. Good for 18 holes and cart, anytime.
It's definitely a great course to play. Let me know if you are interested.

There's a beautiful little 9 hole course about 10 minutes outside of Bracebridge (on 118) called Fairways of Kirrie Glen. It's a great layout and always in really good condition. I play there a few times a year (every time I visit from Ottawa) and they have a superb 9-n-dine deal ($40 this year).

There's also North Granite Ridge which is half way between Bracebridge and Huntsville off hwy 11. It's cut out of a forest and granite outcroppings.

I would def check out Deerhurst Highlands for one of your BIG course outings. Beautiful course that always seems to be in great shape no matter what time of summer!

I played Hawk Ridge about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. It is a course you can walk and the big challenge was some long par 4's. Have fun.

If you are able to check your ego at the door and are up for a challenge on a well groomed and beautiful golf course, then I would suggest the Rock. The service is excellent as well.
This course can be beat as long as you play it smart. (like to the 150 yrd markers)
