    Shaft question?

    Looking to put a new shaft in my driver. Need some suggestions on a shaft equivalent to the specs fo the NV-75 stiff.

    Thanks

    I'm partial to Grafalloy and I am currently hitting the Pro Launch Red with my driver, but here is a list of just a few that are bang-on as far as specs go.

    Yours = NV-75 Stiff -> 78g -> 2.8 torque -> mid/high bend -> med/firm tip

    1. XCaliber 7 ->73g -> 3.0 torque -> mid bend -> med tip

    2. RAPPORT PRO-JEC R 6830 -> 61g -> 3.0 torque -> mid/high bend -> med/firm tip

    3. Graphite Design YS-7+ -> 78g -> 3.0 torque -> mid/high bend -> firm tip

    You can find info on them all, and more, at golfworks

    Cheers.

    Will look into those....any thoughts on the matrix shafts or Diamana?

    I've never hit those, but a buddy swears by the Diamana white(and quite expensive) I believe the red is more control oriented, white distance, and blue for a variety of conditions. Best to talk to a shaft pro and do some research on these shafts - especially at this price! Another in the higher price range that matches the NV-75 is the Voodoo 75 by Aldila. UST makes the new Axivcore Tour Red which again matches yours almost exactly in the mid 100's price range.

    All this driver shaft talk, and you got me looking at possibly switching out my ProLaunch Red (low torque, high bend, firm tip = very low launch) for the ProLaunch Platinum. Went to the range the other day and after winter left knee surgery(I'm a lefty), I may be in a bit of trouble with the Red - another month or so will tell. My swing speed/angle are off and I'm finding the Red a wee bit too stiff - D'oh! The Platinum is softer tip, mid bend point, .5 higher torque, meaning higher launch angle and a little more flex. Heck, I may even back down to a regular flex for a season if the knee dictates.

    Good luck in your shaft replacement endeavors

    Leftie here also. Went for a quick driver fitting at artisan and he told me that the NV 75X was a good shaft but I needed an open to neutral face than the closed one I had been playing. Just from reading, the shaft is the engine and I want to make sure I get something equivalent. Don't mind the price as long as the shaft matches. I've tried a Voodoo in the G15 which I'm leaning towards but the torque was a high and not sure which model of Voodoo it was.

    YOU are the engine of the golf club, not the shaft. Don't believe everything you read.

    Why not just get a NV75-X? Take a look at the Titleist 909D3. It's a bit open and a pretty cheap. You could even order one with an Nv 75 X.

    Was thinking on ordering a driver with the NV shaft but thought I may try something equivalent but in stiff. Just noticed they have a Rombax shaft at golfworks half price. Thinking its probably quicker to get a shaft installed after market than having to wait for it to be special order with the head.
