True in most cases, but the greens tend to dry out quickly and if they can't water them they will suffer.
Complaining about dry conditions for April/May golf is a good problem to have though. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I don't mind the gohpers,it's the geese that I would like to kill!! Already a few here. I would love to see the greens dry out before the irrigation system gets fired up. Not likely to happen though. Usually late April is when it gets going.

Was at Calabogie today... They have a foot of snow over most of the course, they are hoping for rain but they are not opening this week for sure!
Mountain Creek is down to the ice and crusty snow level, perhaps 3 inches max. They are hoping for the first weekend of April, if it rains hard soon it could be sooner but not likely.
Madawaska has really melted. There is more grass visible than snow. The short course is mostly open but really wet. No body was around to see but I would think 2 weeks (will update when I hear)
Sandpoint has no snow in the rough and a few inches on the fairways. They would probably be looking at 2nd week of april.
Most of these courses need a really good rain to melt that last bit. If we get rain everything will be accelerated, if no rain we will be a couple of weeks.

It looks to me like there is less snow in the east and south end of the city this year than in the west end. Maybe some courses in that area will open first.

If by weekend, they mean Fri, I could possibly join someone for a 10:30-11 tee time. If anyone books, let me know.

CedarGlen isnt answering the telephone. I wonder if they will actually be taking tee times or if its first come first serve..the recorded message still says the opening is pending the weather...I sure hope the rain in the forecast is wrong!!

It was first come first serve last year but if they get enough calls they will likely take some tee times, try calling later in the PM.

I got to the 19th tee after work. Sunny, warm, not crowded. I predict it will be a madhouse tomorrow.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
