    shortening putter

    trying to find out the pros and cons of shortening a putter by 1-1 1/4 in. Is the swingweight seriously effected. Ping (putter is not a Ping)strongly warns against doing this but others seem to think that is bull(in general). Can't seem to find much on the net although I do know if it doesn't work I can add an extension to return it to original specs.

    Shorten it to the length you want.

    Add some lead tape to the back of the head if it feels too light.

    Thanks for the info. I kind of figured it would not be a problem but I had some doubts.
