Men's Leagues
Anyone have an idea of where I can get information of the men's nights/leagues around town? The only one I could find was at the Canadian.
Thanks

Most courses have them for members, are you looking for ones that are open to people who are not members at a particular course and just want to come for a weekly league?

How about creating the Kilroy Open. Sponsored by the Ottawa Golf Forum. Held at Loch March once a month between June and September. To enter you must register on this website and have 500 posts or more. $50 admission fee/ event. Purse is estimated at $10,000. New groove rule is not in effect.
You only get out of something what you put into it

Greensmere may be the ticket, but their website has hardly any photos of the holes themselves. Hmmm Any comments about it?

Greensmere told me they were having a big 'Outing' during the March Golf Show. During the show they will be revealing their new scorecards and new pictures with the new holes as well as the names of the two courses.
I was lucky to play most of the new layout last fall before a downpour chased us off - you wouldn't be disappointed in making Greensmere your choice.
(Although if you are any good, I might be)

Greensmere is an great course. I joined there last year and really enjoyed it. The front 9 of the original course (White 9) is a little bland, but the rest of the layout ranges from good to excellent. Conditioning is above average, too with some of the fastest greens I've played in the area on a public/semi-private course.

How is the pace of play for the Greensmere Thursday League? Also, from the Greensmere website, it is a shot-gun start, are you still allowed to walk the course?
Thanks,
Dave

http://greensmere.com/main.shtml?Mens%20League - the website states carts may be rented. I think this implies they are optional. I know they are optional on member's night.
I only ever played the Tuesday member's night, but pace of play was usually quite good (1:45-2:15, depending on which 9, weather/playing conditions, etc). The longer rounds were a direct result of playing the much more challenging and spread-out Gold 9, which was a hybrid of holes that will compose the front and back 9's of the new course.Wannabe Golf

Good pace of play then, thank you for the info. I really enjoy the black & gold courses at Greensmere.
