Of course you can express your opinions.

This site is not a hobby for me. I take it very seriously. I have an obligation to guests and advertisers. It is not too much trouble, it is my job. If people had protested my announcement and said overwhelmingly that moderation was not wanted, I'd have to reconsider my position. That did not happen.

The more co-operation we get on this the better the forum will be. I really do not like being a cop, but as you say, it is inevitable that trolls will pop in, and I will do my best to not let them get out of hand.

It's not the once in a while poster trolls Dan is seeking to moderate, it's more guys like me who are always embroiled in rapidly degenerating discussions. Obviously there is no V-chip for this forum, but if us regulars cooperate with this request, it should be a more "friendly" forum for those who don't enjoy the running skirmishes that have been going on.

BTW, if anyone has a problem with anything I post (opinion basically), feel free to PM me. I'm always up for some intelligent discussions.

Also I agree with all that up there, but I also differentiate between humour and personal attacks, ranting and feeding the trolls.
I enjoy the laughter more than the inelegance that some try to display. I don't mind it as long as there is no personal attacks initiated or as Dan put it instigated.
Let's just have fun.
Most of us know who we are.
