Ben Franklin Indoor Range
Anyone go here often? I'm curious what people think of it. My thoughts are to start getting some kinks out of my swing before spring starts.
How does the whole thing work? Do you just show up clubs in hand between 8am-4pm any week day clubs in hand and start hitting balls? How much travel do the balls have?
Any other details, likes/dislikes?

Been there several times and it is a good area to swing the clubs. Distance from hitting stations to end is about 80yards. Just show up , pay and go hit balls.

Been there couple of times last year. Just show up, pay, they give you a piece of paper with the expire time(?), go inside find mat and start hitting balls like crazy before you run out of time. I think the balls go about 80 yards.
The balls and mats were in very good shape.

Also the balls are mostly Srixon so pretty decent to hit

it's great for practicing short game shots (under 80 yards). there are little flags at different corners of the field. i like to get there early before there are a million golf balls on the ground so i can practice my backspin shots.
i practice all the iron shots but i dont practice woods there because i cant hit off those plastic tees. You only get out of something what you put into it

Is it busy there? What time is normally the best time to go? I assume avoiding 11am-1pm is a good call?

been there at lunch hour and has no issues finding a spot. I only went for 30min.

Have a membership and hit balls three times a week. NORMALLY, it is quite busy from 9 to about 11:30 and then tapers off somewhat after that. The most I have ever had to wait to get a mat is 5 minutes.
The balls are all good, Srixon as mentioned, but their trajectory is a little lower than say, a ProV1.

The dome is very nice, and lots of people hit their drivers there too! Usually 30 minutes is enough - the balls are very good quality.

Thanks for all the replies. Its all great info. I think I'll pick up a 10 pack and try to get out a few times next week. Srixon balls are a bonus as I use the trispeed on the course.

there is an iron wire that crosses the field of ben franklin superdome at around midfiled, i was practicing my 3-iron and must have hit that wire 10 times! it was real annoying because i wasn't even trying to hit it.

Funny how easy it is to hit a 0.25" wire at 40 yards, and how hard it is to hit a 4.25" hole at 10 feet.
