Other then Golf and Tennis the repective sports the other Atheltes are in their teammates make to much diffence in the outcome of winning that I cant really say they are the MAN.
With so much emphasis on every single shot in golf I give the nod to tiger. Also I think its harder to be more cosistent in the game of golf as it is to be in Tennis. In a 4 day tourny Tiger tee's it up against the "Best" in his sport every single day, but the way Tennis is set up with seeding Federer only has top notch players the last couple matches. If Federer played every match against the top 10 in the world I dont think he would come close to having the amount of slams he does now.

An interesting poll
I'll go with Federer , even though i don't follow tennis ,he's brilliant in his sport , with Tiger a very close second.
I think there's a big difference from individual sports to team sports
I'm a soccer fan, i agree that Messi is arguably the best footballer in the world this year , but his skills are high-lighted by the great players around him . Put him ,Ronaldo , Ovechkin , or any other brilliant team player in a poor team and although they may be the best on their team , they'll struggle against the good teams .
And how good would Jimmy Johnson be in smaller funded team , with a poorer performing car ?
Everyone has accomplished brilliant things in their respective sport , but when its one person against everyone else , that's where "the man" gets the job done.At the end of the day ... It gets dark

I will say Dennis Bergkamp. He could come out of retirement and dominate.
