Christoph Shubert did not make the German Olympic hockey team. 6 other NHL players and 1 from the AHL did. A bit of an ego shot to a guy who always seemed to have a bit of an inflated sense of worth in my opinion.

Completely agree. This is a guy who wasn't good enough to be steady at one position when playing with the Sens, and eventually got waived. He's never been good enough.

There has to be something more to this. Shubert not making an NHL team I can see. But he has to have more skill than at least 30-40% of the german olympic team, right? I mean have you seen these guys play....they aren't all that good. Would they be ranked in the top ten teams? Maybe 8th. I would think Shubert at the very least has the skill to make 4th line on this team.

That's what I was thinking. I don't know a lot about the guy, heard a few rumours from his time here in Ottawa, but they were just that, rumours. In terms of talent, I agree with you that it would be surprising if he were not one of the top 25ish current German hockey players, especially since the games are taking place on NHL ice.
