Golf Channel HD with Basic Cable (Rogers)

Hi,

Not sure how many people this affects.
but.....
Golf HD was part of the HD Speciality Pack with Rogers. In the past you needed to subscribe to at least the VIP package and then the HD Specialty Pack.

For guys like me with just basic cable, I couldn't get the Golf Channel before without paying for everything else.

I noticed (and now have subscribed) that they moved GOLFHD to the "Sports Theme Pack" so if anyone had just basic cable and wants Golf (and in HD), its $9.99/month with the two first months free. (no obligation)
There are about 6-7 other sports channels in there but don't recall what they were.

If all you want is GOLFHD, its a nice way to get it without the whole VIP package, etc.

Hmmm... I have the VIP and the HD specialty pack. The Golf Channel HD is still there, for now. I see it has been moved as you describe on the Rogers website. No longer listed as part of the HD specialty pack.

I certainly don't want to pay ANOTHER $9.99 just for the Golf Channel. I would not watch the other sports channels, and I only watch the Golf Channel for the tour events.

Knowing Rogers it will dissapear just as the season gets underway and a complaint may get a temporary reprieve. The writing is on the wall with this, just as the major networks pass more of the PGA Tour coverage to TGC.

I should have been more clear. Sorry.

GOLFHD used to be part of the HD Specality Pack.
They moved it down to be part of VIP instead.

So if you were getting the HD Specaility Pack just for GOLFHD you can drop the pack and save some money.

but...
They also added it to the Sports Theme Pack
so I can get GOLFHD with that and only have Basic Cable (don't need to get VIP)

"Basic + Sports Theme Pack" is still cheaper than VIP.
