It appears that youtube has added a vuvuzuela horn at the bottom of all videos. click the little soccer ball looking icon at the bottom and make sure your volume is up. sooooo annoying!

At first I thought so too, but De Rossi actually had his foot stepped on. so i will give him the benefit of the doubt that the pain took a stride to reach his brain.

Spain vs Portugal! As bad as Spain played in group play I saw Portugal play worse against Brazil today. They're a 1 man show. I'm confident we'll win.You only get out of something what you put into it

I was so hoping Spain would go home. Oh well. Can't wait for Sunday!

I'm hoping all the weaker teams advance: Mexico, England, Japan, Chile, Slovakia,

Yet another dramatic exit for poor old England !
Germany put on a clinic of counterattacks , but England were clearly robbed of a goal .
Terrible officiating for that one lone moment ,who knows what could of happened if that had counted.
But Germany played outstanding for the most part.At the end of the day ... It gets dark

What a game, I was on the edge of my seat when England started pouring it on towards the end of the 1st half. But the Germans destroyed them in the 2nd. The passing was crisp and accurate, it was the best game I've seen so far. Bring on Argentina!

Only 1-0, but Spain owned that game from start to finish.
Villa is going to be the player of the tournament. he's awesome!
Torres sucks and dives too much.

Don't forget my boy Klose. His final world cup, with a chance to break or tie the German scoring record.

Got Holland, 3 more to go

poor Ghana. crappy way to lose. dominated the match and had a penalty shot to win it at the 120th minute. That Uruguay team is plain aweful! Holland in the finals for sure.

That may have been the best hand ball in history, next to maybe the hand of god in '86. Forlan is awesome, what a free kick to tie the game. Uruguay can play, but ya Holland outclasses them big time.

Sometimes I do not know what to think about this game.... Thierry Henry became a zero for passing a ball using his hand and now Suarez becomes a hero for blocking a sure goal with "both" hands.... In hockey, when you throw your stick to prevent a goal, it becomes an automatic goal. Maybe soccer should do the same.

my immediate reaction was the same. the goal should have counted automatically.
when i was younger i played soccer for my high school, and i thought about what i would do in a situation like this. i came to the conclusion that if i could save a goal at the end of the match by using my hands, it would be worth the red card. but if it's to save a goal in the first half of the game, it wouldn't be worth it. the uruguayan player did the right thing today! You only get out of something what you put into it

He did, I agree with you. Just find it pathetic to see this guy carried by his teammates as a hero for using his hands. Let's see if we start to see in the next days or so Flash games, Photoshop montages and other niceties as we saw when Henry used his hand against Ireland.

That was the most upsetting game I have ever witnessed. I don't know how you can justify winning like that. Suarez is a tool.

Fifa really needs to change their motto. The "Fair Play" claim has become nothing but a mockery. Soccer has become the least 'fair' of all the major sports. Diving, injury faking, and referee intimidation have become integral parts of the game. The caretakers of the game (who seem to think the game only exists for their own self aggrandisement) have taken an active role in preventing the evolution of the sport to allow for video replay and improved officiating. It has been a long time since Fifa has actually looked out for the good of the sport.
Granted, the call in the Ghana game was the correct call. But, everyone knows that, were it not for that handball, the game was won for Ghana. I sincerely hope Fifa has the common sense to revisit that rule, and turn intentional handballs on the goalline into automatic goals.
Thus far, this World Cup has been a showcase for everything that is wrong with the game.
