Phone Bell on complain on the fact that you have to pay full price for a receiver and they will offer a rebate (for ex. 10%) for the next year (12 month)...

Then go out and buy it from The Source or other place... and when you activate it remind Bell of the rebate that has to be applied to your bill every month.

The only way to get a deal from Bell is to phone and complain. When you phone contact retention and tell them you are thinking of going with Rogers or Shaw or cable, etc...

I got a brand new still sealed HD PVR from Ebay for $320 shipped and when I activated it I got $200 programming credit. I've been with Bell for years and still got the new customer promotion without complaining. I just asked.

If I recall correctly, the source had a great deal on them just last week. Just make sure to get an extended warranty. I have dish care and just had to replace mine. It was only 1yr old.

A buddy of mine has been with Bell forever and has HD, local phone and internet...even has the NFL Ticket and Centre Ice packages. He keeps asking Bell for the HD PVR promotion for new customers and they keep refusing him.

I agree about the extended warranty...i know many whose PVR died after a year or two.

Complain and said I was going to Star Choice and magically the manager decided to give me a deal.
