Using a hunting rangefinder for golf?

    http://www.torontogolfnuts.com/showthread.php?t=27291

It appears that the Bushnell Tour V2 is the same thing as the Bushnell Scout 1000. We golfers are just paying more because it's assumed we have more money than hunters. If the two products are the same, I'm thinking of buying a Camo Bushnell Scout 1000 for $200.

My first rangefinder was a hunting model. Like you say, it was cheaper than the golf version.

The only differences are the colour schemes and "pinseeker" is called something else.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I believe it's called "Bambi Killer" mode.
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

It seems that the 'hunting' version has what they call "ANGLE RANGE COMPENSATION (ARC)", which would be illegal to use on the golf course, whether used or not.

"If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used."

ARC is basically the same as the Slope feature. They sell some with ARC and some dont have it. And yes, they are illegal.

They are the same thing indeed. I've owned a scout 1000 for 2 yrs now. Used the Bing cashback and bought it on ebay.easily my best non-Club purchase ever
