Gramps
In the past some of you may have muttered "Gramps" under your breath as I was taking your money on the course. You will now have even more justification for saying just that. Yesterday, at 12:34 p.m. my daughter, Karen, gave birth to a healthy and beautiful (guys in touch with their feminine side can say this with impunity) boy. Levi Aleksander Pare Barkin weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Mother and father are ecstatic with joy, but no more so than Teresa and I. We eagerly look forward to assuming our role as grandparents. We were made for this. Needless to say, one of the first things that I will be teaching my grandson are the virtues of a good grip (interlocking, of course), proper posture and alignment, combined with a burning desire to smash the hell out of the ball, all the while smiling regardless of the outcome. Let me see, by the time he's about 12 we should be able to enter a tournament together. By that time, I should be a 72 year old sandbagger who should be able to pick up a point or two for the team. I can hardly wait.

Congratulations Gramps... best job in the world... and when you can make them laugh or smile when no one else can it's the best feeling in the world... even if they are lauging at your funny hat or glasses. ENJOY!

Hey Mike.. WOW!! Congrats.. That must feel bitter-sweet.. A new generation.. and someone to call to help you set up your new electronic thing-ma-jig..
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Thank you all so very much. I am proud of this child and he's only a couple days old! I'm not biased or anything like that. Yesterday while visiting my daughter and my grandson in the hospital, I wore a Baseball Hall of Fame shirt. You can never start too early to inculcate in him a love of sport. Today, I'll don a Spyglass Hill golf hat.
I've attached a couple pictures of the golfer-to-be, who by the way will surely start out with blades (after the plastic clubs, of course). If you can master blades, you can master anything.Last edited by mpare; 10-28-2009 at 09:10 AM.
