Tiger Woods is the worst player to ever win a major....I bet a lot of people on this forum would agree with me right now because of all the threads I've read about how bad Tiger is playing. So does anyone agree with me? Dumb question, I expect a dumb answer.

    I don't agree.
He has shown over and over that he can win majors. The point of the poll was to determine which player could not repeat their winning performance.

Once again, John Daly. Any takers?

In a recent Golf Digest (or Golf, can't remember), Lanny Wadkins says that Seve knew Lanny was a fast player so he tried to slow-play him at the Ryder Cup. Lanny said it didn't work because he knew it was deliberate.

I liked Seve because he reminded me of me. You know - hack it out of the woods for a 7.

You'd have more takers if he didn't win the British Open as a followup to the PGA. Plus, I think if the guy ever bothered to line up a putt, he'd be one of the greats.

In my mind, Paul Lawrie. He had done nothing before and has done nothing after he backed into his OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Two other wins on the Euro Tour and that is his career as far as I can Google!
At least The Beemer won the International and one other PGA event.
As for Seve, man that guy was the Ultimate Scrambler. He could get up and down out of a garbage can. He was just plain fun to watch Lanny Wadkins is a D**K anyways so it was nice that Seve messed with him in Ryder Cup Events! It's a shame Seve's game went downhill the way it has. He would be fun to watch on the Champions Tour.

Maybe i'm playing devils advocate here, but what about adding Mike Weir to the list. He won the Masters with a bogie in a playoff. If my memory serves, he has won 1 tourney since then and either misses the cut or has such a terrible round on Sunday that he drops off the face of the leaderboard (close second in Cdn open excepted).

Disclaimer: I don't actually think Mike is he worst to win a Major, I just think he should be added to the list. I would give that honour to Paul Lawrie, even though Paul and I are fellow Aberdonians (natives of Aberdeen, Scotland), he simply got hot one weekend, got lucky that a FC screwed up and has not been seen since.

THE SARGE Won the 1969 US Open at Champs GC in Houston. His second year on tour after being in the U.S. Army for 14 years.
But at least he won 11 other tournaments, and had 110 Top Tens out of 513 starts. Plus he made 506 cuts out of 513 starts, not too shabby. Career earnings $3,541,789.

People love to bash Tiger....I think it is so funny. Ya he is terrible 50 wins at 30. Sounds like he sucks. One of the best long iron players on tour, oh and number one on tour from 6 feet. Wait he still sucks, and did I mention he has not missed from 4 feet or less this year.... oh ya I forgot that one. Definately one of the worst golfers that has ever played the game.

I'm going with the 5th major here, Craig Perks. He's made ONE cut this year and finished last in that tournament. He made only a few cuts last year. This guy has a 10 year exemption, and he'll be lucky to make 10 cuts!

I am a tiger fan... but I know he has missed from inside 4 feet many times this year. He missed at least 3 short puts at the British open.

Ya you guys are both right, I was just trying to make a point. He is still number 1 in the world from 6 feet. I cannot remeber who said that, but someone did say on television that he has not missed from 3 feet this year. It was a golf analyst as well. I looked everywhere and could not find true putting stats for lengths. I will keep at it.

The point of this all is that he does not suck, he is a great competitor, role model. This bs about a cry baby drives me crazy as well. People just dislike him to go against the grain and to spark controversy. Just like the media! Anyways I root for him every tournament and hope he wins everytime he plays.

I used to hear the same thing about Gretzky. Even in his hometown, which is where I'm from, you'd have people saying that he sucked and wasn't that great. He is the greatest hockey player of our time as is Tiger Woods is likely the greatest golfer of our time.Plain ignorance to think otherwise. Although Gretzky didn't get called a baby many often said that if it wasn't for his enforcers protecting him he'd be nothing. When infact if you watch the early clips of the oilers it was more like they just couldn't catch him.
