    So we're down to just one more tournament in the FedEx Cup playoffs and I'm still trying to figure out why everybody who made it this far isn't starting from scratch at the Tour Championship next week.

    His assertions in the article are lame. He compares it to other sports saying the regular season only determines home field advantage, which is something you can't translate to golf. It would be impossible to reset the points to zero and ask Tiger which course he wants the TC to be held on, because of the prep work. He would have been better off saying that the final event would be better suited as a match play, bracket event. That would make it more like the playoffs.
