What a bunch of dorks on XM doing play by play... Tiger lips out a birdie on 9, and they lament that he 'just can't buy a putt. Dude is six under through 9 and he can't buy a putt... give me a break. These guys expect him to birdie every hole or what? 10 putts through 9 and they said not less than 30 seconds ago that 'his putter just isn't heating up'. Tiger is definitely held to a completely different standard.

Is the radio coverage like TV, where any mention of anyone else is unheard of? Mike birdied the first the hole today.

A lot of people may think that he's boring to watch, but he does a wonderful job managing his game, remaining focused, and keeping his emotions in check. After almost falling off the map in 2003, he's been one of the tour's most consistent performers in the last 4 years, and he's one of a very few American Ryder & President's Cup competitors that truly understands the concept of team play.
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

When I made my post, Tiger was -6 through 7, and -10 overall for the round. With 11 holes to go, it was not unrealistic that he could get to -15. He didn't, but it was possible at the time. Rather than waste a beautiful afternoon in front of the TV, I played 18, and watched the replay on Golf Channel last night instead.
I have liked Stricker since he won the Eagle Creek Classic on the Canadian Tour here in Ottawa back in the 90's. He was a very nice guy at that time (I volunteered at that event and he was super nice, as were most of the guys), but he really stood out as a stand up guy, and thus, I have always rooted for him. He and Tiger being buddies is not relevant.Last edited by 3Jack; 09-08-2009 at 09:58 AM.
