    I'll give this a shot...

Eastern Conference Final - Pittsburgh Penguins
Western Conference Final - San Jose Sharks (it has to happen some time..)

Stanley Cup - Pittsburgh Penguins, back to back.

    Art Ross - Malkin
    Hart - Ovechkin
Richard - Ovechkin (Heatley will be second)
    Vezina - Roberto Luongo
    Conn Smyth - Crosby
    Norris - Lidstrom or Chara
Calder - John Tavares (he'll get playing time in NY. Lots of PP time, too.)

PS. I am a Penguins fan.. since 88'
My name is Paul. And I'm a golfaholic.

I've gotta say I'm surprised at the people taking the Ducks, after losing Pronger and Beauchemin.

    Regular season:
    East - Boston
    West - Canucks

    Playoffs
    West - Flames
East - Canes (Cam Ward is a beast and should be the only goalie considered for the #1 position on the Olympic team)
    Flames win the Cup

Player awards....don't care...the only trophy that matters is the cup.

Damn..I completely forgot about the Flyers.

Flyers will take the President's trophy, will win the Eastern Conference in the playoffs, but will still lose to Calgary in the finals

The Leafs will occupy 1st place in the East after tonight. Sorry Habs fans.

    Regular Season
Eastern Conference - Washington (President's Trophy)
    Western Conference - Chicago

    Playoffs
    East - Washington
    West - Chicago

    Stanley Cup
    Washington Capitals

Chicago had the best PP% by far in the playoffs last year, but they also had the most penalty minutes. If they can figure out the discipline end, they will cruise through to the finals.

Washington was 2nd overall last year in PP% and top-10 in fewest PIM. Carolina is solid too, but it comes down to firepower, and Washington wins that matchup.
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

Im glad someone noticed.....They are going to be a nasty team to play against. as much as I dislike the flyers...they have a good chance this year.

How are the Sharks going to do better this year, having lost Erhoff and a bunch of forwards? They've lost so much depth it's unbelievable.

I agree with you there, but they've lost so much. I mean, all the analysts agree with you. They're predicting SJ to do great. But, come on, they lost one of their best D-men, a power forward in Michalek, Cheechoo (still don't know what to classify him as), Grier, Goc, Moen, Mclaren, Roenick. I just don't see how they're a better team than the team that fizzled in the first round. On paper, they're worse. Less depth up front and at the back end, and still equally prone to crumbling in the playoffs.

sharks have chemistry issues, character issues, leadership issues, they are talented and will have a great regular season again, no doubt; but i dont think they believe in each other come playoff time.

ducks have excellent goalies (Hiller and Giguerre as backup!) and still have a great defense. their forwards are mostly young, skilled and experienced in playoff warfare. they won the cup 3 years ago, last year they beat the #1 sharks and almost took out Detroit. they are a better playoff team than regular season. they will be a tough out for anybody.

    I can't believe it's already hockey season.

I predict I won't watch a single game until February.
