Rotary Club's Golf-A-Thon

Hey All,

Just quick summary of the golf-a-thon that the Rotary Club hosted to raise money for the new Respite Home that will be built for kids and adults with disablities. The event was held at Emerald Links (thanks to Gibb) on Monday 7 June 2004, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Over $41,000 was raised for this fantastic charity. The officials and volunteers were tripping over themselves making sure that everyone had a great day, this was followed up with an awesome steak dinner (BBQ of course!). This was only the First Annual Golf a Thon put on for the Respite Home, but it was organized as if it was the Tenth (everything was thought of). When the second annual Golf-a-Thon comes around, I hope that many in this forum will participate either as players or as sponsors!! I just received an email from the tournament chairperson who informed me that the total was 43,000 and that next year's golf day is planned for the 6th of June 2005.
