    FAKE PRO V's

Just a heads up for all you Ebay buyers. There are counterfeit Titlest Pro V's on the market now.

The box colours are different. The ball # is different and the cover is harder.

So if you see a great deal on new Pro V's on Ebay or any where else you better aware that those fake PRO V's are floating around out there.

Most likely are made in China. Wherever they are made people must be buying them and getting burnt.

Personally I would not buy anything new off Ebay now. Too risky. Too easy to get burnt.

I know two people who got burnt buying Titleist AP irons off Ebay. Both sets were fake.

It's not just off eBay. A friend got burned buying Titlest irons off a Canadian online retailer that is no longer in business. The rule is still true, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Do the fakes have a seam or not? I know I have seen Pro V1's that have seams (where the arrow and Pro v1 is written) and other's that don't.. hmmm .. I have bought them on KNetgolf.

Here are two Pics.. each have destinctive lettering. The first has a definite seam where the <*Pro V1 392*> is. The other two do not have a definite seam and the lettering is different. The Titleist logo's all look the same though. Do any of these look fake?

The 392 had a seam, all of them did. When they re-did the pro-v (2008) the main reason for this was the new seam free cover.

What's with the China hating? A very large number or golf components from ALL the top manufacturers are made in China....including the vast majority of forged heads (with a few exceptions such as KZG and Mizuno which are forged in Japan).

The components are made there and the club may be ASSEMBLED somewhere else but don't think for one minute that those top brand clubs are MADE in the good ol' US of A.

I believe in fact there are only a very few foundries that produce golf clubs and most are in China. I'm actually not sure any club heads are made in the USA but I may be wrong, there may be some exceptions.

Don't think anyone hates china. But there is some feelings of resentment and worry that regarding dirt cheap manufacturing and outsourcing that affects our homeland economy.

Nothing new Rick. They have been around for at least 3 years...

If you look closely at the ball, the quality is just not there.
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

I hear what your saying fundonny. Obviously rip-offs and fake equipment is bad news. All I'm saying is don't assume its crap because it's made in China. 80%+ of whats in yours and everyone elses bag, on your back and on your feet everytime we play golf is probably made in China or elsewhere in the far east

No one hates china, and yes most oem's have factories there.

Most counterfeit (of oem) clubs also come from china, hence the comments ....

Scotties putters are made in the USA, only.
