    Callaway Tour Ix

On a whim I grabbed 3 dozen of these off of Knet to try out and I must say that I am much more than impressed. Seems like these balls just know what you want em to do and they also seem alot more durable than ProV's or TM TP's.

I just noticed Golftown has the Tour i and ix balls on sale for $29.99 a dozen (reg $49.99)

    Tour i or tour ix?

Which one is best for moderate swing speed off the driver 88-95?
Couldn't find a clear explaination of the differences.
I must admit to also being suspicious of a high priced ball being discounted that much.
Is a version of the tour worth buying?

Which one is suited to your game will depend on how much spin your swing (angle of attack, driver loft) put on the ball. Generally speaking the i has more spin off the driver than the iX.

The reason they are being discounted so heavily is that a new version of the ball is coming out soon. This happens every year or so with the premium balls. I always load up on several dozen when this happens.

Best ball out there, period! I played the Tour Ix for most of the season and it is perfect for my swing. It doesn't spin as much as the ProV1x but surprisingly, stops after one or two hump. I find this ball to be very predictable around the greens with moderate spin when chipping. Very good in windy condition as well.
