Bushnell V2 rangefinder versus the Pinseeker 1500

Anyone try the new V2 in comparison to the 1500? Reviews?

What about the Callaway ones made by Nikon? Any Reviews?

    Any info is appreciated.

you are comparing laser range finders to GPS units

You should also include sky caddie, intelligolf and others

The laser range finders are deadly accurate. Problem with them is you can't see around bends, over trees and lay up distances. with GPS you can do that. GPS isn't as accurate but close enough. Don't have to point to 5-6 different things, all the info is displayed at once.

With GPS there are so many hidden costs (even with intelligolf, don't be fooled).

No I'm not. I am asking for a comparison of one Bushnell to another -- the V2 to the 1500.

My other request is about the Callaway rangefinder made by Nikon. It is not a GPS, it is a rangefinder.

I have no interest whatsoever in a GPS. They do not give me the info I want, namely where is the flagstick.

I have the V2 with slope, works great! I love it.....i can tell exact yardages to tree lines and bunkers which GPS units cannot give you. The only downside is unless you have a direct sight to the flag, you wouldn't be able to get yardages.

I have the V2 with slope, it's excellent and I can use it at the range and any course without the GPS costs or courses that are not plotted yet.......

    That is cheating .

I have the V2 that is small and very durable with no slope. I have a bit of a shaky hand, but with a bit of practice I have gotten used to it. The price for this unit was very reasonable and I have absolutely no complaints about it. It gives me layup yardages (with a target of course) and sometimes I have to take a few steps sideways to find yardage around trees, doglegs, etc.

I fully recomend this unit and if you buy the orange one it is 50 dollars cheaper.

    The v2 rocks

magnification is not as good as the 1500 but is about half the size
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I bet you are the type that holds everyone up by taking 5 minutes per shot or looks at every blade of grass on the green before putting..... Then after all that you still shoot a 110..... You must be a real joy to golf with.... lol

Well that all depends on weather you play by the rules of golf or not.

At very least you will have to leave the slope enabled rangefinder in the trunk as you think... "Too bad I bought one they don't allow." Instant disadvantage, especially if you are used to using it.

Besides if you only follow the rules when you play in a tournament you will never do well in any tournament. If you are not used to playing by the book you won't know what to do in some situations and probably do the wrong thing. Not to mention not being able to fluff up your ball in the rough, kick it away from a tree, ignore penalties, etc.

hx101 we don`t allow insulting other users here. Playing by the rules of the game is obviously not as you are describing, and as for your estimate of sillywilly`s golfing prowess, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Please treat users here with respect.

there's a poster at the Meadows that is real cute. it's a guy looking for his lost ball in the bushes, and at the bottom it says "I dont care if 5 minutes are up, that was a new ball!"

I like the 1500 better. It picks up the target a bit quicker and only uses a standard 9volt battery that you can buy at the dollar store instead of the expensive (correct me if I am wrong) $15 battery the V2 requires. Both are great though and the V2 is about $100 cheaper.

Your right.. I have the V2 and though I love it it uses a CR2 battery which are 15 bucks each... so far the battery last me about 3 months.. I haven't found anywhere to buy them cheaper yet..

    Find 'em on the bay

I got 6 on the bay for 10$USD. CR2's that is! As for the V2 I got one used on ebay for 75$ that had a problem with on ef the digit readout. Called Bushnell and they sent me a brand new one for shipping only. Not bad, eh? With the pinseeker I never have trouble inside of 250yds. And since I can't hit it that far off the ground anyway...
