Club Championship Weekend?

The Arnprior Golf Club is holding it's annual Club Championship this weekend, August 15 and 16. I always enjoy the challenge and tougher conditions that this weekend seems to bring. Anyone else having their's this weekend?

Greensmere is having their club championship this weekend. I've been out quite a bit practicing, and the grounds crew is hard at work getting things into the best shape they can.

I'm looking forward to participating in my first, even if it is in the C flight. Its been a nervous week of working out a few swing kinks that found their way in over the past few weeks. I'm hoping the added pressure is the catalyst I need to pull it all together

Good luck to each and every one of you, and remember, composure is the key. Everyone will have a bad hole or two. The key is not to let those holes get you down and throw you off your game.

T4... 35 - 42 77... Solid back nine! :S. Chris McQuaig fired a steady 72 for lead after day 1. Gonna have to plug the leak if I wanna gain shots for next Saturday's final round.

Greensmere has a couple of horse races going with the "A" division having 3 guys within a stroke and BCMist in that group just one back of the leader who is even par. The "B" division has a few guys within 2 strokes and the "C" division has a runaway leader at the moment in OG's Foddz who shot a great 84. Good luck to all tomorrow.

Nice playing Foddz. Pretty shocked you are in the C flight though, you certainly don't have a C flight swing.

Wowzers teed off today at Arnprior and our round took 5.5 hours. Last time I go out on the same day as a club championship. Ridiculous! Course is in stellar shape though, could use a cut on the greens though!

I sucked bad in our first round. Next weekend will be just going through the motions, although the better half and I might be heading to Mtl for the weekend.....

I was out to win this year, and being 6 back to a guy I've never seen shoot over 75 when it mattered.....don't think I've got the 68 or better in me to take the crown. And I'm really getting tired of the "Oh well, maybe next year..."

Besides, it would give me a nice break to get ready for the real event the next weekend.......

Well Greensmere's Club Championship is complete with an exciting playoff win on the first hole. Brad Goodman was the winner. Ottawa Golf's Foddz was the "C" winner with two superb rounds of 84 and 86. Great job. Jon has worked hard on his game this summer and finally got the results he's been looking for.

One shot back of Brad. Moronic course management decision on #15 resulted in a double. Reminds me of the Roberto Di Vincenzo comment after his blunder at the 1968 Masters. "What a stupid I am!"

Having played with Brad both days, he is a deserving winner, a heck of a nice "kid," with a awesome, classic golf swing.

Congrats to brennan Smith who took home the title at kanata lakes this weekend with scores of 75-71-74. Really tough tournament set ups at that course and those are solid numbers under pressure.
