imo, not completely false, but I would still say that chip for eagle was what really won it ... a lead he would not give up for the rest of the tourney

tiger had one more chance on 17. putt goes in for par and perhaps being tied teeing off 18 would've put more pressure on Yang. perhaps a playoff after that

but, yah imo, the chip-in was the real winning shot

Absolutely. In fact, Yang's coach, Brian Mogg, told Golf Channel that Yang had very similar yardages to 18 during his practice rounds, and the result with the same hybrid was the same, sticking it to within 10 feet. It's a shot he knew he could hit.

From my (failing) memory of the shot, it looked like it either went through or VERY closee to a leaved tree. If he would have hit the tree the ball could have gone anywhere, certainly wouldn't have made it over the hazard.
