Headlight Restoration kits
Anyone ever try one of these things? I need to clean up my headlights for a safety check and found this one at Canadian Tire:
Permatex Headlight Lens Restoration Kit
Do they work well enough? I suppose for $20 and an hour's time it's worth a try.

Garth what i have tried is very fine water sand paper in 1000 grit and clear coat after.Sand the lense down with wet sand paper(leave in water for 10 min.prior to using)then in between each sanding apply a light spraying of clear coat.I did mine in 3 coats and it really worked out.You can buy all this at CTC or auto parts store. Not sure how long it lasts but it only cost me 9.00 total.
Good luck with your project

I have seen the results with the 3M kit. Quite impressive! And of course I'm sure you are aware its only for the plastic lenses not glass...

I recently saw someone on TV do a credible job with toothpaste and a paper towel. Never tried it myself, but worth a shot, can't hurt.

Here's the video for the 3M system.

If toothpaste does what I need for my headlights, I'm going to stop using toothpaste.....
