    Glen Mar

Had the pleasure of playing Glen Mar for the first time yesterday. Very nice golf track.

It certainly is well worth the price they charge. And it is almost always in damned good shape.

I'll second that---we have quite a few hidden gems around here. We played "Royal Bearbrook" this morning just to say we got out. Had a great round---the course was a little wet but not something to complain about---the greens were a little slow but all in all very enjoyable. BUT----where is everyone----there was no one there---we even had sun for the back nine !!!
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Glen Mar is actually closed due to flooding, hopefully they will dry out quickly. Great course for the price.

I've played this course for many years, even back when it was a 9 hole course. I enjoy playing this course from time to time. One thing I've noticed though is they seem to have become more smug and arrogant over the years which I guess is due to their positive reviews and upgrades in recent years. Rarely have I seen Marshalls do their job by getting the slower groups to pick up pace.

They are losing their appeal with me = less trips that way

Haven't played there for years now, but I remember a pretty nice layout and A TONNE OF BUGS.

Given its location I guess that's kinda expected, but isn't there anything golf courses can do to reduce the amount of bugs?

Just takes away from the enjoyment of the round.
