    2009 Citizen Round #4 - Rivermead -- Rained Out!

The leaders were just teeing off when the horn blew around 1pm today. I believe the 3rd round results are essentially the final results. I was +8 through 12 holes.

The course was extremely wet when we teed off. After some on and off rain for the first 6-7 holes it was worse. After another 5 holes of heavy rain, it was getting difficult to find any place in the fairway that was NOT in casual water. When the horn blew, I was on the 13th tee and the fairway is in a low area... I'd say it was about 1/4 underwater.

I would have been interested to see the full field scores given the conditions.

Did you even get one nice day, weatherwise, in this tourny? = /

There was some rain in both my first and second rounds, but it only lasted 10-15 minutes each time.

Not cold during any of my rounds. It was only about 20 today but pretty muggy. I would have preferred to wear shorts, but kept on the Gore-Tex pants to keep water from creeping up over my shoes!

Just a miserable day out there. We moved one pin placement before even starting as it was in an area that was low and accumulates water quickly. Greens actually drained very well for the amount of rain but the fairways and bunkers were saturated. When we blew the horn the super had said that if it had been members out there he would have closed about an hour sooner but held off as the radar was showing Rivermead right on the edge and hoping the storm would move further east. Just didn't happen. After clearing everyone off the course we were driving through over 6" of water on areas of the cart paths. Good ole mother nature won again.
