Looks like it was too much NCGT Team spirit and the show of force (all of us wearing Black golf shirts ) for our competition on saturday at Black Bear Ridge for the 6th Battle at Belleville. Our squad made it clear from the begining that we were coming for revenge after our loss last year.
This year's Battle was hardly close as NCGT took off right from the begining and picked up 9 of 10 points in the Best Ball portion (not one group was shut out as we got 8 wins and 2 ties.
In the Altrenate shot it was 7-3 for NCGT while in the scramble we took 8 of 10 points and it was all but done before the singles matches even started. It was a good thing we were leading by so much as we only got 2 groups in before the siren went off and were called back into the clubhouse for shelter. Team NCGT was leading 24-6 after the 27 hole mark and it was all but over. It was a total team effort and NCGT wins the 6th Battle at Belleville with an impressive landslide victory 35 - 15
Well done to all the team from NCGT and thanks again to everyone for a great weekend.
Thanks also to all the guys from IGAO for making this event so much fun.
Also to note ......... if you have a chance to play Timber Ridge, (we played on friday afternoon to start our road trip) ............... do it!Last edited by NoBack; 08-05-2010 at 09:04 PM.

Thanks to all especially Steve and Rich our fearless leaders. As a rookie I am not surprised that this was a landslide win. I saw two things on Saturday that went a long way to contributing to this win. The first was experience, all of the guys were very used to this format and were anxious to go play. The second was how loose the gang was, having a lot of fun prior to and during the matches. I was happy to be there and contribute to the win and I had an absolute hoot.
Thanks again. LucLefty Lucas

By "Absolute Hoot" do you mean from your Snoring???
My roomie for both nights AND I've never ever heard any such non-stop, loud snoring in my whole life. I'm bringing a tape recorder next year for whoever gets lucky enough to room with Lucky.
Just do the whole team can appreciate how well I must have played with basically no sleep for two whole nights.
Great weekend bonding with all of you lads!!!

Thanks Luc
Always happy to do it.
Just got an email from Rupert of the IGAO (one of the organsiers who couldnt make it this year) ..........
"Hi Steve,
Congratulations on the 2009 season Battle at Belleville win. I really missed coming up this year Steve not only for the golf but meeting up with the NCGT - a bunch of classy individuals. If all goes well, hopefully next year we will come back stronger.
Rupert"
Thing I dont get is he called us "classy"
Thanks Rupert!!
Our guys love the Battle at Belleville just as much and are already looking forward to defending it in 2010I've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"
