    Hosel boring Cleveland TA3 Gunmetals

OK, so I wrongfully assumed that because the TA5's take a .370 parallel tip shaft, so would the TA3's. I went ahead and aquired a set of parallel tip Rifles for my TA3's, but have since learned that the TA3's actually take a .355 taper tip.(weird)

I don't know much about clubmaking and/or repair, but I do know that its possible to bore out a .355 hosel to accept the parallel tip shaft. My question is: Can this be done to gunmetal irons? And, is boring out a hosel a big job? i.e. Can most club repair shops do this? Would I just be better off trying to sell the shafts and get the proper size?

Any help would be appreciate. Thanks guys.

Yes it can be done and there are those on the board qualified to do it. I personally however would just exchange the shafts you have for the proper ones.

Thanks guys, but no one has mentioned if its OK for gunmetals. I know you're not supposed to try and adjust loft, lie angle etc. on gunmetal finish because you could crack the finish. So would it be ok to bore out the hosels of my gunmetals??
