$100 course recommendations in Ottawa and Montreal
A friend will soon be visiting Ottawa and Montreal. He wants to play several rounds in one or both cities. Any course recommendations would be welcome. Preferred price is about $100 plus power cart. He shoots in the mid 90's. Our local courses (higher end ones) are typically in the $37-$50 range plus cart. I guess that he wants to splurge for a higher end course. Thanks in advance.

In the Ottawa area I'd suggest the following based on conditions and quality: Loch March (Kanata) and Outaouais (Rockland).
In Montreal, I would suggest Le Challenger (http://www.golflechallenger.com/en/) and Ile de Montreal (http://www.cgimgolf.com/en/accueil.htm).
There are also some nice ones between Ottawa and Montreal. The ones to look at are Lachute, Carling Lake, Hawkesbury, and Falcon. I haven't been to Falcon recently so I don't know if it's still in good shape. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

If you dont mind a little bit of a drive I would tell you to go check out Smugglers Glen. http://smugglersglen.com/home.html, Another course that I really enjoyed but havent played in a couple of years is The Falcon.. http://www.falcongolf.ca/en/home.html

Montebello for sure,Loch March,Outaouais, would not play Carling Lake as all the greens were really bad a month ago.

Marshes
I would say Marshes for the quality of the experience and that there is nothing else around like it. 6 par 5's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 3's is interesting, and there are not many (if any?) RTJ courses in our area to play.
I agree with the other courses mentioned, but Marshes is so different than other experiences in the area.

True, for uniqueness Marshes is the pick. GPS, beautiful clubhouse. Can't comment on the cart gilrs though... ; )

Outaouais, Outaouais, Outaouais
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Montebello is also a luxurious experience. There is a gorgeous clubhouse, & a very private feeling when you're there, & could stop at the Hotel for an excellent meal after your round.

Le Challenger is a great course in Montreal, really feels like a private course and is a pretty decent price.
Even I've never heard of me

Outaouais is an excellent course!!.. far better imo... Sorcier is pretty however it has too many rinky dinky holes and you can't hold the hard greens because they have gravel underneath.. As well I think there are only about 2 or 3 holes where you can bring driver out...Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

I believe that he is there now. Montebello and Hawksbury are some of his picks from the list that I gave him.
