Impending LCBO Strike
A friend of mine, whos spouce works at the LCBO, told me that the LCBO will be going on Strike as of June 24. They have already provided works with the picket schedule. Apparantely there is a medio black-out so the public will be caught unaware. We should all plan accordingly.

I don't know about a media blackout, OPSEU has been flooding the airwaves with commercials for the past few weeks. Luckily we have the SAQ just across the river.

Like most things, booze is cheaper in Quebec! Gotta head to the IGA for my $25 case of Corona...

The London Free Press has been running stories about the strike for the past week. It's no secret around S.Ont.

Costco in the Gatineau has varieties of Quebec brewed of beers and coolers..
You can mix a case of 15 for $17..
I'm not a big drinker so insterest to find out what effect some of those 8.5% would do to me... Bobblehead mentioned it felt like being hit by a tranqulizer!!!
Happy St. Jean Baptise day..

The beer stores here aren't affected though are they?

Beer Store is unaffected, & you can still get wine at retailers like Wine Rack, and of course Quebec. It will be tough buying spirits in Ontario if they strike, but the SAQ is always an option, or you could start up a still...

If you are looking for wine and imported beer at better prices try the SAQ warehouse on Champlain St. in Hull accross from the Alexandria bridge. Its like a warehouse and the more bottles you buy the cheaper it is.
A lot of bottles of wine sold in 2 and 3 packs at discount prices.

I was talking to a guy at work today and he seemed to think that the LCBO stores will still be open, but it will be management "manning" the cashes. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but you might still be able to get your fix after tomorrow.

During the news last night it was announced that some LCBO outlets would be open and run by management. However you would think once the stock dries up that will that. No Union worth a damn would allow trucks to haul in new stock.
My wife went to the St Thomas LCBO last night around 7:30 and got what she wanted. But she said the shelves were getting bare and the place was a zoo!
Good Ole Canucks, what would we do without our booze?

All under control lads. Agreed to extend that deadline until an agreement is reached.

As a single digit capper, I was glad to both restock my little wine cellar with reasonably priced LCBO wines on St Jean Baptiste holiday, only to learn that the strike had been avoided.
