hey guys. just wondering if anyone over here as ever suffered from Costochondritis syndrome? i was diagnosed with this about a month ago after suffering bad pain for 5 months.

has anyone here had this and how long did it take you to recover? I havent been able to swing a golf club becuase of this, or play tennis.

some activities I can still do, such as biking. but no tennis and no golf.

that sucks...I had cracked ribs a few years ago and doing anything was near impossible. Sleeping was the worst. I actually played golf one day but was in pain everytime I swung a club. At least I knew they would get better in a few weeks.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

    Jarred,

For my back pain I have taken Naproxen and it did not work well. But Celebrex is a magical drug that has all but made the pain go away and I am now able to rotate my upper body without stiffness.

I am not sure if it is something you might benefit from, but it rocks hard.
    Get better soon brother.

He's right, I've been on Celebrex, sadly, for 3 years now and will probably be for the rest of my life. The inflammation has attacked my chest twice. The first time I couldn't breathe and barely move, rushed to the emergency room because we thought I was having a heart attack or something. They checked me out and told me to double my dose of Celebrex, boom next day I was better. It was one of the top pains I've ever felt in my life, gladly I know how to treat it now.

Most cases of costochondritis have no apparent cause. In these cases, treatment focuses on easing your pain while you wait for costochondritis to resolve on its own.
Medical speak for "Tough luck buddy, please suffer quietly."

    Hope you get better J.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

That is unacceptable!!! I talked to a couple of the Doctor's at work and they both told me that you should not have been diagnosed with that condition without a series of tests to rule out other more serious issues. If I were you I would ask for a second opinion - Seriously Jared, this isn't an in-grown toe nail here

When I went to the ER, they put me ahead of everyone else to rule out a heart attack first and foremost. A little scary, but was impressed with the service.
