Nike 400cc vs. Wilson Deep Red 425cc
Hello all. I am a first-time poster, long time browser.
I am currently debating whether or not I should go with the Nike 400cc or the Wilson Deep Red 425cc driver. I hit both in the simulator and found that hands down, the Nike was the distance winner (I hit between 260-280 with the Nike and 240-260 with the Wilson). However, the Wilson was dead center almost every time whereas I had a tendency to hit a bit of a hook with the Nike.
One thing that stuck out was the fact that the Wilson had a thicker grip than the Nike and felt much more comfortable in my hands (which are somewhat large). Given that I currently use an oversized grip and have a nasty tendency to slice (grip too large I guess), I am thinking that my hook was likely the result of the grip size (especially given the fact that I haven't hit a hook off the tee...well, EVER!).
As you can probably tell, I am leaning towards the Nike with a new grip that fits to the same diameter as the grip on the Wilson. Does this make sense? Is there anything I should be concerned about (e.g. altering the swing ratios or what have you)?

Not sure about the grip change effect, but might suggest that a driver you can hit 240-260 yards dead center(Deep Red) may well be worth putting in your bag....just a thought
