Id say go for it. Its a good time, bunch of good guys, and its a good way to get some competitive golf while at the same time just having a good time. I had nothing but fun when I played on it!

How does it work? I register for the league and on various tournaments, see the folks who are in my class and then challenge them?

Go to slammertour.com and you can get most of the info you need there. Send an e-mail to commish@slammertour.com and he'll add you to the list. E-mails will be sent out with upcoming events (though many are already on a schedule on the website.)

There are 2-5 events a week and basically it's straight-up match play between yourself and each other member of your foursome. You can roll the dice and see what group you get put in or you can challenge up to three people to try and make your own group. You beat someone ahead of you, you take over their spot.

There are guys who will shoot 75 on a regular basis, there's others who'll be in the 90-100 range and there are some in the 100+ as well... so there's competition of all levels for players of all skills.

I've played about 160 events since I joined in 2004. I love it, even though I'm a somewhat below-average Slammer who has held a scoring average of about 96 or so over the years... with a low of 82 and a high of ... well you'll have to dig through my historical scores for that one! :-P

No, you don't have to be EG member. However, if you are, you'll get approx. $10 off the green fee for each event.
