I certainly did not build those big draw shovels you're hitting now
Were you ever able to do fade or slice Soldier boy?

All my shots were slices before I had the benefit of the Chief's expertise.

I can do the same thing for a fade though it is harder for me and I can't make the ball move as much.

For the average player, it avoids all this gobbledygook about planes, grips (weak or strong), dropping arms, bringing the club face inside, outside, etc. IMHO the golf swing is hard enough and a lot of us mere mortals don't have the time nor inclination to learn or practice these swing thoughts. The above works very nicely for me and requires no swing thoughts after initial set-up.
Yup.......that pretty much sums it up nicely for me. I just finished hitting two buckets and i'm gonna kill anderson links tomorrow morning.

I tried very unsuccesfully to draw it from a straight stance today but without major intervention, hours of lessons, buckets o' balls...who am I kidding...i'll leave it to Ernie...

Actually, there is a very good golf tip in this months golf digest, in the back, how to break 80. I will dig out the issue and post it but it essentially says what I am saying above.

For those interested, Page 164 of July 09 Golf Digest. Excerpt from the article.

"Dial your clubface pen or closed to control curvature: Set it square for a straight shot, dial it out (open) for a fade, and dial it in (closed) for a draw. It's a more effective way than any other method, especially better than manipulating the clubface with your hands."
