    Driver ball flight too high.

What flex point do I need in my driver shaft to lower ball flight? Currently it has an Aldila NV stiff, mid flex/kick. Ball trajectory is way to high. What should I replace it with to help lower ball flight?

well, that is a low launch shaft so its strange to be launching the ball high. how high is too high?
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Why do you think it is too high?

What is your trajectory when the ball is coming down? Does it hit and stop or do you get some rollout?
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Why do you suspect tha it's the shaft causing your woes ? What's on the end of this NV ? What lenght are you playing it at ? Does this particular NV's bend profile blend with your swing profile ? What ball are you using ? ... Lots a stuff here to consider.

Well it's actually my 14 year old I'm trying to help here. Ball flight is high and straight. Hardly any roll to speak of. It's way to high and nobody wants this flight. He's probably losing 30-50 yards. When the ball lands it pretty much stops. If he had the same trajectory as me he'd be past me on most drives. It's attached to a Cobra speed LD F. Any more thoughts or info needed?

What's the loft on the driver?

As was mentioned earlier, the NV is actually a fairly stiff low launching shaft so it's probably more a combination of loft and swing mechanics.

Is he hitting down on the ball with the driver?

I doubt that the shaft has anything to do with. Check where he makes contact on the face. If it's on top of the face that could be the problem and he would then to bring his tee down. Does he fade or slice the ball? Does he shift his weight properly? If he has a reverse pivot that could be the problem. Too many ifs here.

Part of his problem is the driver head. It has a low CG and is designed for hackers...which means it will promote a higher ball flight with increased amounts of spin. If he wants a lower ball flight 1) try changing his spine angle (tilting his head towards the target a tiny amount will do this) 2) if that doesn't work go to a driver with a deep face...I suggest Cobra's 2007/2008 Speed Pro D

I myself have a very high ball flight, ive worked with different shafts and a few different heads, with lower ball flight came a draw which i had a hard time hitting the ball on a consistent line, so went back to the high ball flight with a baby fade, yes im losing 10-20yds but the consistency is what really matters as far as im concerned, and who really needs 280yd drives, 250-270 is good enough, dont know how far your son hits the ball right now but maybe in same situation as me, he's still 14 as you said so maybe hes somewhat maxed is distance for his size right now.
