Stonebridge Tees
Looking for suggestions for tee selection at stonebridge for a 17 handicap player.
Whites look short at 5500 yards but blues at 6100 with slope of 129 seems too challenging.
Thoughts?Even I've never heard of me

Depends on your game.
If you are wild off the tee it won't matter too much. From either the blues or the whites there aren't really any long forced carrys to worry about except for maybe number 12.
The fescue hasn't grown in yet so it's going to play as easy as it ever will right now.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

While there are some fun longer holes on the course that bombers can try for in two from the blues the test at Stonebridge is more geared to control. The greens play tough and you need to putt well to score there. If you understand you game and know that most strokes are lost on the green for you then challenge yourself from the tips, if you struggle getting to the green but putt well then tee off accordingly. A lot of players tee off from the tips that really have to reason to do so and all it does is slow up play. Stonebridge is a very nice course that is usually in very good shape and a general pleasure to play. Don't let the tee deck change that for you. A good way to guage a tee deck at a new course is to look at the par threes and figure out which deck you could play those from. If you can play the par threes you will do fine on the rest of the course.

adam, you are nuts!! You hit your driver just as far as i do and are a full club longer than me with all your irons. I never once considered playing it from the whites. Just for the record, i played glen mar with adam today and he shot a 91 with two birds on the back. I've played irish hills with him before and he shot a 37 on the back nine... all from tees that palyed over 6000 yards. grow a pair

Stonebridge is all about the putter. Nasty greens and sometimes crazy pins. If you are halfway decent off the tee and can putt, you'll do OK. If you don't putt well..... oops!!
