Help build the ultimate golf and country club
When.... not if I win 30+ million I want to build the ultimate golf AND country club. I want to bring back the country club feel where people stay for the day not just 4 hours and out. Here are some of the things I would like at the CLUB.
Oak lockers in locker rooms
A pool to hang at after round
Hot tubs to relax after round
Lounge with wood covered walls and overstuffed leather chairs and fire place
Patio overlooking the course
Five star restaurant that is open all year
A phone on the ninth tee to place orders at the halfway house
"Refreshment" stands on 5 and 15 not carts
What would you add to the list???

A strategic course that blends naturally into its environment. That means no greens that make one think of the Himmalayas, and certainly no goofy holes like 17 at Sawgrass.
A fully equipped pro shop that sells you what you need and adjusts it on site, if necessary. Years ago most clubs (even the 9 holer I learned to play on) were so equipped.
Detailed, daily pin sheets. GPS is nice, but some of us still like to know exactly where on the green the pin is situated in relation to the front, back and sides of the greens.
First class caddies. If you have this kind of money, then you should help the local teens earn enough money for their post-secondary education or technical training.
A games room equipped with a green-felted pool table and a snooker table.
A no-hats policy for men within the clubhouse. There is no substitute for showing a bit of class.
Limousine service to your home. With the new (May 1, 2008) administrative penalties (three day suspension of licence) for driving over .05, one drink will put you in jeopardy. No need to roll the dice in that regard.

You asked for input, you got it. Sometimes you don't get what you expect, especially from a guy who was raised to respect my elders, to treat others as I would like to be treated, and to remove my hat in the house (and sure as heck at the dinner table). I might be seen as old-fashioned, stuffy even, but at 60 I am not inclined to change unless I see a good reason for doing so. I haven't been persuaded that having one's hat on in the clubhouse is something to which I should aspire. I guess I'm just an old fogey.
As for the 15 minute intervals, I'd be concerned that this would unduly limit the number of members who would be able to play on any given day. Insisting that rounds last no longer than 4 hours would solve that problem. If that policy was in place, then 10 minute intervals would be fine.

Off the top of my head I'd add:
- a very simple (but still classy) grillroom where I can get a great burger and really cold (good) draft beer after my round ... lots of TVs for watching sports while I do my best not to go the full 18 holes while describing my round ...
- good showers in the locker rooms with those ceiling mount shower heads that make it seem like you're standing under a waterfall ...

Why do you need $30+ million of your own money?
That is what banks are for. No need to lose your own money on an idea.

A fully lit double-ended practice range, complete with practice bunkers (grass and sand), 30,000 sq. ft. putting green, and unlimited range balls.
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

Excellent ideas
I'll add a valet service. You drive you car up to the club house and the valet parks your car, cleans your clubs and loads them onto your air-conditioned 8 speaker fully enclosed cart. After the round your clubs are again cleaned and placed in your car while you have a shower, a swim, a massage and a beverage

I often wish my course had a gym to workout. I used to like getting a quick workout on before I went into my pre-game routine. I think it is also a great addition to a course because it allows the parents to introduce fitness as a critical element in golf. We can drop them off knowing they will have worked out, practiced and ultimaltely had fun playing golf!

Massage services!!!!!!!! I read that a good massage prior to a round will shave a few strokes.

Referencing the stuff about being able to call in food orders from the ninth tee, I played a couple years ago at a course in Boulder, Colorado, that had a system on the carts that not only had GPS, but kept your score, and you could transmit a food order to the clubhouse through the system as well. It reminded you on the seventh hole that you should do that so there was no waiting. Very cool.
