Ginker vs. Big Johnny69
May 17th, 1PM @ Manderly.
It should be a massacre, a drubbing, an outright embarrassing loss......and I'm not referring to Ginker. D'oh!!!!
I don't like my chances. I'd put them at slim and none, and even though the match has just been announced, slim has already walked out the door.
If anyone else wants to pile on, feel free to do so."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

I think Geoff's best chance is to "accidentally" hit Lance in the wrist with his golf ball on the first or second hole.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

LOL! Love the confidence Geoff...
Physically... you can beat him... Mentally... you haven't got a chance in hell...
I've played with Lance a few times. He's not only a good golfer, he's confident, he believes in himself, and he doesn't get down or give up if he hits a bad shot or has a couple of bad holes. Hopefully you're getting lots of strokes or you sir areThe opinions expressed in this post are mine and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of others on OG.

Geoff, if you want to win at Manderley, then you will have to exercise restraint. The course looks easy on paper, but it isn't. The course invites you to hit driver at every opportunity (especially on the par 5s), but you shouldn't unless you are laser straight and know exactly how far your shot will travel. Otherwise, you will find yourself in a whole lot of trouble. A good example, is the short, 300 yard par 4, 8th hole. It's well within 3 wood or driver distance. The problem, though, is that if you a fraction off, you may either not find your ball or be in so much trouble that it's not worth finding. I've had many a birdie on that hole hitting anything from a 6 iron to a 3 hybrid depending on the wind.
My advice is to reign in your machismo, use restraint, and win with strategy. It can be done. I know from having played many rounds there. If you play strategically and confidently, you can win. Get a good caddie. Were I in the area, I'd do it for you. In my absence, get Dan on the bag, and listen to him. You will win.

You're exactly right Reid. My comments have more to do with Lance's ability then my own. He's been our best player the last two years at the RC event against TGN. He's won his CC. Last year in Belleville he had to give up three or 4 strokes to a very good and he still closed him 3&2, or something like that, and we'll be playing straight up.
We'll both be at Manderly that day, so I figured I'd offer up the challenge. Maybe it's just what I need to get me focused to bring my game around. I'll do my best and try not to get discouraged with a bad shot or bad outcome. Imagine the confidence I could have should I beat Lance and we were straight up?!?!?!?!?
