I have an old Spalding TPM Tour Series 16 putter that I'm interesting in restoring to something a little closer to its original glory. It's of little value (to anyone other than me) so I can afford to take some chances. From what I can tell, it's stainless steel with a black finish. It's been worked on by a previous owner so it has a fair number of dings and scratches that I'd need to clean up. It also has 3 topline sight dots (looks like the original dot was nowhere near the balance point ... gotta love that Spalding quality) so I wouldn't mind filling the two decoys before I put a new finish on it. Does anyone have some tips or links of use to someone interested in refinishing a stainless steel putter? Thanks in advance!
